Tim has thirty years of experience as an engineer in both public and private practice. He specializes in coordinating multi-disciplinary teams of engineers, planners, and designers to create economically and environmentally responsible engineering outcomes. With a background in business, as well as a broad experience in both municipal and civil engineering, Tim has an excellent background for development planning projects. He understands the municipal planning process, the operations aspects of municipal infrastructure systems and the budgeting process infrastructure as well as the relationship and importance of infrastructure to economic growth.
Tim has ten years of experience in the public sector, working as the Municipal Engineer for the former County of Queens in Nova Scotia. In this role, Tim was responsible for managing the operations of municipal infrastructure, including sewage treatment and water treatment facilities and a landfill. Tim prepared capital budgets and worked with Council to recommend infrastructure spending and investment, and also reviewed development plans and proposals.Tim also has more than 20 years working as a civil / municipal design engineer in the private sector. Prior to joining EDM, he worked for Terrain/Genivar/WSP as a project lead on many real estate development projects as well as schools and sewage treatment system designs. Tim also worked for SNC Lavalin as head of their civil division in Halifax where he was the project manager of many large civil projects both locally and in western Canada.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of New Brunswick and a Master of Business Administration from St. Mary’s University.
